Artificial intelligence seems to be the latest word making round these days. The concept was made popular by movies such as Terminator but now it is slowly becoming a popular and permanent fixture in our lives.

In a simple , Artificial Intelligence also called AI is is the development of intelligent systems that can learn, reason, and act autonomously. These systems are able to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. They understand natural language, recognize patterns and are able to make decisions.

When we are looking at AI we have two types of AI, which are Narrow AI, which is also known as Weak AI, and General AI.

Narrow AI is designed to excel at specific tasks which include but not limited to facial recognition, virtual assistants (think of Siri and Alexa), and recommendations systems (think of Netflix and Spotify).

General AI is capable of performing any intellectual task that a human can do. While still in theoretical concept, General AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we live and do things in society.

With all the fuss about AI you might be wondering why should I care?  

For starters, the world is rapidly transforming with the use of AI. Virtually every industry is being impacted by Artificial intelligence. Form Healthcare systems, to education, farming, mining and banking.

To not care about AI would be detrimental to your future as AI is also impacting professional and personal lives. For examples so companies are downscaling on workforces in order to automate certain processes resulting in job cuts.

On the other hands, the good thing as with anything else there are lots of opportunities, jobs and business that have been created because of AI.

As AI becomes more and more popular and widely used, issues such as job displacements, bias in algorithms and the unethical use of this technology in being developed and used responsibly are slowing coming to the discussion table.
